The MR2 is the 1st mid-engine sports car developed by Toyota. The 2nd gen MR2, the SW20 has an improved, more powerful 3s-GTE 4cyl turbo charged engine compared to the AW111 with the 4age engine.
There are the NA, Super Charged and also the famous Turbo charged version for the MR2. Back in the days this car was a ferrari look a-like and some even made a ferrari conversion with this car.

This MR2 was neatly done and had a few modifications such as a MicroTech engine management, HKS SQV black version and an HKS intake to improve the power and response of the engine. With thses mods this car could produce around 250+whp which is more than enough especially with its light chasis.
The exterior was left spoilerless and runs on 17" BuddyClub P1 Racing wheels and using a lowered suspension. An air scoop was added to direct more air to the intake since the engine is in the middle of the car, it doesnt receive as much cold air as conventional front mounted engine.

NA cars are mostly equipped with MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) to sense the air being sucked into the engine. However when going to a boosted application where the air is force fed into the engine the MAF sensor will need to be clamped because of the different voltage reading.

To tune the car more accurately, a pressure sensor need to be added before the throttle body to sense how much air is being pushed into the engine so that a more accurate tuning could be done.

The Ver.4 Subaru shows how reliable the Subaru engine and platform especially with good care and maintenance. It is still a fun car to drive and is also very affordable nowadays and some could be in a good condition or can be restored like the white 2 door Type R which has a story of its own.
The WRX produces 240+whp with minor mods and the fully loaded Type R 2 door impreza is able to produce from 350-400whp which is ample power. How ever for the WRX stock gearbox its best not to launch the car unless it is strengthen.
