NA cars are mostly equipped with MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) to sense the air being sucked into the engine. However when going to a boosted application where the air is force fed into the engine the MAF sensor will need to be clamped because of the different voltage reading.

To tune the car more accurately, a pressure sensor need to be added before the throttle body to sense how much air is being pushed into the engine so that a more accurate tuning could be done.

Some of you may have a vacuum meter is similar to a boost meter. For NA engine, the engine sucks air thats why the vacuum meter shows negative reading or some meter goes backwards but Boost meter can show the air being pushed/forced in for normal application is around 0.2-0.8 depending on the cars.
